Expanding Housing Options at the Salt Lake City Planning Commission

On September 9, the Salt Lake City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and vote on Expanding Housing Options — the zoning reform that would legalize smaller starter homes, duplexes, triplexes, and fourplexes in more of our city's neighborhoods. After more than a year of research, public comment, and community conversations, this hearing is where the Commission will make its recommendation to the City Council. It's the most consequential moment this campaign has had yet, and the voices in the room that night will matter as much as anything WALC has put on paper.

That's why we need you there. Whether you've spoken at a public hearing a dozen times or never before, showing up on September 9 and sharing why housing options matter to you — as a renter, a parent, a longtime neighbor, or simply someone who wants Salt Lake City to stay livable for the next generation — is one of the most powerful things you can do for this campaign. You don't need to be a policy expert or memorize talking points; two or three honest sentences carry real weight with the Commission. Join us in person, sign up to speak, and help make sure the room reflects the full breadth of support this proposal has earned.

Will you come ?
