We're working to create new homes to make the Wasatch Region more affordable for every one of our neighbors. To do this, our work focuses on the following solutions at the local and state level:
-
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs): Encouraging the construction of ADUs is a simple and affordable way to create new housing options in every neighborhood. Read More
-
Affordable Housing Incentives: Supporting policies that provide incentives for builders to include affordable housing units in their projects, especially in areas with low displacement risk to ensure diverse and equitable communities. Read More
-
Community Land Trusts (CLTs): The CLT model allows lower-income households to build wealth through homeownership while providing the community with a growing supply of homes that will remain affordable for generations. CLTs work best as part of a comprehensive housing strategy. They are complementary to, and should be paired with, other affordable housing solutions. Read More
-
New Housing Options: Implementing zoning policies to allow for a greater variety of housing types, including single and multi-family homes, to increase the housing supply, and promote more inclusive communities. Read More
- Parking Flexibility: Restoring flexibility and reducing unnecessary requirements can unlock more homes of all shapes and sizes, lower housing costs, and support connected neighborhoods. Read More
There is no single solution to the Wasatch Region's housing needs but these solutions, when made together, are a major step toward a future of housing abundance.
