Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are important to Herriman’s housing future. While they are not a single solution that can fully meet Herriman’s housing needs, ADUs are critical to providing neighborhood-scale infill housing. As a simple and affordable option for many people, these units can provide much-needed workforce housing, housing for students, and older individuals the option to age comfortably with family. They can also offer homeowners additional income and increase their property values. Overall, ADUs can build wealth and opportunity in Herriman's neighborhoods by allowing homeowners to participate in their neighborhoods' incremental development. 

By easing a few ADU development standards within Herriman’s code, we can accommodate diverse housing needs without compromising the integrity of our community.
